Glasgow West End

Glasgow’s West End is a district in the city filled with many classy hotels, cafes, bars, boutiques, clubs and excellent restaurants near to Kelvingrove Park. Glasgow University, the Botanic Gardens and the SEC.

The district contains the residential areas of Hillhead, Kelvingrove, Broomhill, Hyndland and now Partick. The area also covers the likes of Jordanhill, Anniesland, Kelvindale and Bearsden.

The South Side

The South Side of Glasgow is the area south of the Clyde river. This area has some of the most affluent areas in the whole of the city such as Newton Mearns, Giffnock and Thorntonhall which all come under the catchment of East Renfrewshire Council.  The likes of Newlands, Dumbreck and Pollockshields are high value suburbs in the Glasgow boundary area.

The southside area of Shawlands is an area with a great nightlife feel. With many bars, classy restaurants around, it really does rival the West End for a fantastic day or night out. Queens Park is a lovely place to relax and exercise too.

There are several notable buildings to visit on the South Side such as Alexander Thomson’s Holmwood House, Ibrox Stadium and the famous Pollock Country Park estate.

Glasgow’s East End

Glasgow’s East End covers Glasgow Cross to the edge of North and South Lanarkshire. Famous to being home to Glasgow’ Barras market, Celtic FC and Glasgow Green. The East End of the city was a major industrial hub home to many famous companies such as James Templeton & Co. It currently employees many at the Wellpark Brewery, home of the Glaswegian beer Tennent’s Lager.

North Glasgow

North Glasgow covers the likes of Milngave Bishopbriggs and Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire as well as some areas which are being largely redeveloped in recent years.
